Pace Students Secure Many Victories

We had an exciting weekend filled with competitions for several groups.


FOOTBALL

On Friday night, the annual Battle of the Bronze took place at Milton High School. The Pace Patriots secured a hard-fought victory over the Milton Panthers with a score of 42-35, bringing the Bronze Helmet back home to Pace!


NJROTC

On Saturday, the Patriot NJROTC returned to Milton High for a competition of their own. They won overall champions of the drill meet, delivering a clean sweep to their competitors. The overall rankings follow: Academics - 1st Place Overall Athletics - 1st Place Personal Inspection- 1st Place Unarmed Basic - 1st Place Unarmed Exhibition - 1st Place Armed Basic - 1st Place Armed Exhibition - 1st Place Color Guard - 1st Place Overall Meet - 1ST PLACE!!

Female Push-Ups: 1st Place - Jasmine Jernigan 3rd Place - Payton Robbins

Male Push-Ups: 2nd Place - Justin Hawkins

Female Curl-Ups: 1st Place - Alexis Parker 2nd Place - Alyssa Varney 3rd Place - Ahava Dang

Male Curl-Ups: 1st Place - CJ Parker 2nd Place - Brayden White 3rd Place - Roman Jackson

Academics: 1st Place - Aidan Barnes 2nd Place - Brenna Baker 3rd Place - Harrison Rennell


MARCHING BAND

Also on Saturday, the Pride of the Red, White, and Blue Marching Band traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a competition they had never been to before and to competed with 20 bands they had never seen before. After traveling more than 6 hours to the competition, the show being delayed an additional 3 hours because of rain, they finally got to perform around 5 pm that evening. There were bands from 4 different states (LA, TX, MS, & us from FL) and we came home with Straight 1s (equivalent to Straight A’s) as well as:

  • Best in class Percussion

  • Best in class Color Guard

  • Best in class Band in 5A

Overall Grand Champion (best out of all 20 bands)

This means that the Pride of the Red, White, and Blue has gone the entire competitive season undefeated and competed against bands from 5 different states.


Their last guaranteed performance will be at this Friday’s football game. We hope you will come and support us, the football team, and cheer this Friday!

We also have several sports in the playoffs this upcoming week, including golf, swim, and cross country. Congrats to our students for excellence in the classroom and in the athletic and extracurricular arenas!
