House Building in Geometry?

This week Mrs. Dear's Geometry students started on a project where they will apply the concepts of geometry to build a balsa wood house to scale. Students were provided the scaled drawings and materials to start on the walls for their house. Each group is assigned a wall. They must complete the wall as the plans specify. They are creating walls that include windows, doors, and wall ties, just as they would look in real-life but at a much smaller scale. The connections of the boards must replicate that of a real wall. By the end of the school year, students will have completed an entire house.
